HOUSES IN VALLVERIC, MATARÓ

The project, which will develop a set of 33 houses, is located on a plot with a steep inclination, well oriented and with distant sea views. Using urban planning regulations that determined volumetrics in an isolated multifamily block, an amendment of the planning to facilitate cubic matrix buildings carefully adjusted to the topography of the land was proposed. Thus, three identical buildings will be staggered with a difference of one floor on the platforms that host the semi-underground parking.

The three buildings are square-shaped, modularly divided into nine identical squares. Each house occupies two of these squares and the set is arranged by placing the housing around the central square piece, which concentrates the stairs and elevators.

The grouping system facilitates the generation of gaps of varying height on the ground and first floors, which make up the access routes to the lobbies of each of the buildings, and progressively increasing voids in the upper floors, leading to terraces of significant dimensions.

The façades are planned from the modular layout of the floor, with pre-cast architectural concrete panels that meet vertical walls, shutter boxes and wall pillars. The dimensions of the openings conform to the functional requirements of each unit; they group into larger horizontal windows, which obtain an overall light and orderly appearance of the façade.

The community space is divided into terraces with different sizes, character and functions – pool, playground, garden, etc. – located on different levels and connected by complex routes.
